Job Summary and
Responsibilities:
Successful bidders must pass or must have previously passed the EEI MASS test or its predecessor test.
Selected candidates for I&C Technician positions must be able to successfully complete formal classroom training and pass all exams related to the position. Training
classes
are heavy in technical, math, science and physics concepts.
Upon successful completion of the training class, an Instrument Technician at Plant Farley will be responsible:
o Performing routine maintenance on plant measurement, control and monitoring equipment
o Performing surveillance and calibrations
o Maintaining environmental monitoring equipment and systems to ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety guidelines
Education Preferences:
o 2 Year Associate Degree in
electronics
, Electronic Technology, Instrumentation, Nuclear Engineering Technology or equivalent military training
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
o Nuclear Experience (commercial or Navy) preferred
o Power plant experience preferred
o Previous or current qualification as an I&C technician at a nuclear plant or industrial manufacturing preferred
o Knowledge of personal computers and basic
computer
skills
o Job knowledge in troubleshooting and calibration
o Instrumentation knowledge in a plant environment preferred
o Interpret logic diagrams, electronic and electric schematics
o Research, interpret and follow procedures
o Use electronic test equipment such as meters, etc.
Other Requirements
o This position may require emergency response organization participation
o The successful candidate must meet background screening and fitness for duty requirements.
o The successful candidate must meet the physical requirements of the position.
o Ensure personal safety standards are understood
o Ability to work shift work, including 12 hour shifts, and overtime, especially during refueling outages
